Michael P. Krumsiek 72, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center surrounded, by his loving family.
Mike leaves his wife of 47 years, Marion L. (Donoghue) Krumsiek; two children, Kathryn A. Krumsiek and her partner, Justin Orstrom of Millbury and Thomas Michael Patrick Krumsiek of Millbury; his granddaughter, Teagan M. Orstrom; seven siblings, Kathleen O’Connor, Heidi Belliveau, Jean Trottier, Judy Crespo, Jacquelyn Krumsiek, Anthony Krumsiek and Daniel Krumsiek; his sister-in-law, Ginger Donoghue; two brother-in-law’s, Al and William Donoghue; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Antoinette (Bleau) Krumsiek and a brother, Joe Krumsiek.
Mike was veteran of the United States Air Force where he accumulated more than 2,200 flight hours. He worked for over 30 years at General Motors. Mike proudly served on the Millbury Fire Department, Station 5 for a dedicated 42 years, retiring as Captain. After Mike’s retirement he worked with the Millbury Fire Department Explorers, giving his knowledge that he had learned over the years. Mike was a member of the Millbury Lions Club and Dudley-Gendron Post 414 of Sutton. He enjoyed playing softball and spending time laughing with family and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mike’s life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, Jan. 31st from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 1st at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial will be private.
