MILLBURY – Mildred M. (Allain) Stratford, 83, died Monday, March 22nd in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester with her family by her side.
She leaves her husband, Thomas T. Stratford, with whom she celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on March 12th 2010; four children, Paul R. Fields and his wife, Tammy of Worcester, Debra A. Santon of Sutton, Thomas M. Stratford of Millbury and Peter G. Stratford of Millbury; six grandchildren, Jason, Paul, Michael, Lauren, Devan, Ian; a great granddaughter, Emily; two brothers, Billy Allain and his wife, Irene of Oxford and Leonard J. Allain and his wife, Barbara of Leicester; many nieces and nephews; and a very special niece, Denise Gaudette . She was born in Worcester and spent her early years living in Worcester and Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. She is predeceased by her parents, Anselme and Rita (Cormier) Allain, four brothers, Vernon, Reggie, Roger and Donald Allain and a sister, Doris Bolduc.
Together Mildred and her husband owned Mid-State Sewerage Inc. She loved her home, gardening, baking, caring for her family and her dog Bailey. Mildred was also fondly known to her brothers and sisters as "Petite Fille".
Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 27th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Rd. in Sutton. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 26th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210 or the American Cancer Society 30 Speen, St. Framingham, MA 01701.
