WORCESTER - Mollie J. (Carrico) Calcagni, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 13th in the Christopher House in Worcester. Mollie was born in Battlecreek, NE, the daughter of Sam and Anna (Emanuel) Carrico and grew up in Jerome, PA. Mollie enlisted in the US Army in 1945 and was a surgical technician at Valley Forge Hospital in PA. It was there that she met her husband of 54 years, Michael Calcagni Sr., who predeceased her in 1999. She was a housewife, mother, and a cashier at Iandoli's Supermarket in Shrewsbury, before retiring.
She leaves four children, Michael J. Calcagni and his wife Kathryn of Webster, Pamela Morton and her husband, Gary of Auburn, Kevin Calcagni and his wife Amy of Millbury and Doreen Coleman and her husband, Stephen of Portland, OR; Mollie "Nana" leaves ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and many friends at the Christopher House; two sisters, Eva Stankon of California and Florence Baker of Florida; two brothers, Matthew Carrico of Florida and George "Dick" Carrico of Maryland. Three brothers, Samuel, Walter and William "Bingo" Carrico predeceased her.
A memorial calling hour will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19th from 9 to 10 a.m. with a memorial service at 10 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions may be made to the Resident's Activity Fund of the Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester, MA 01605.
