MILLBURY – Myles J. “Clip” Scannell, 87, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30th after a long illness.
Myles leaves his granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Raiano of Marlborough; his son in law, Tony Raiano of Marlborough; his longtime companion with whom he lived, Aline Fitzgerald of Charlton and Aline’s family, Kerry and her husband, Paul, Kelly and her husband, Daniel, Jamie, Roger Jr., Erin, Chris, Corey, Alyssa, Judy, Payton, Isabelle, Nolen, Roger III and Raegan. He is predeceased by his wife, Janet E. (Dickie) Scannell, his children, John Scannell and Joan Raiano.
Myles was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a longtime volunteer of the Millbury Fire Department, retiring as Assistant Chief in 1978. Myles worked many years for Wyman-Gordon in Worcester. He was a coach for Millbury Little League and an avid New England sports fan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Myles’ life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, Feb. 3rd from Noon to 2 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
