MILLBURY

MILLBURY – Nancy J. (Turner) Packard, 75, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at home.

Nancy leaves her children, Stephanie (Packard) Landgren & Kristin (Packard) McCarthy and her husband, Kevin; her grandchildren, Dylan Karsen, Katherine & Samantha Landgren, Chad & Chelsea McCarthy; a brother, Stephen Turner and his wife, Tricia; nieces, Vanessa Fields & Linnea (Fields) Maselli, Charlie Maselli; nephews, Michael Fields & Blaise Maselli. She also leaves many amazing friends, especially Karen, Sue and Kathy!

She is predeceased by her parents, Everett & Ruth (Elander) Turner and her sister, Cheryl (Turner) Fields.

Nancy was born and lived in Worcester until moving to Millbury in 1964. She graduated from North High in 1966 and went on to nursing school at Winthrop School of Nursing. She graduated in 1968 as an LPN and began her career at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester. During her 50 years as a nurse she worked many places including Fallon Clinic and St. Vincent’s Hospital retiring in 2018. Nancy opted not to pursue becoming an RN so she could spend time with her family and continue to care for her patients.

Nancy also pursued her Real Estate license in the early 90s and sold real estate for a short time along with her mom, Ruth. Her true passion was nursing and she decided to return to working with patients again full time. She made some amazing friends throughout her career who have become family not only to her but to her daughters who are so grateful to have them.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, visiting New York, New Hampshire, Michigan and California to name a few, with family and friends. She took a cruise to Alaska and her dream trip was to Ireland. But really, Nancy was a homebody who enjoyed being home reading a good book, sitting by the pool, on her parents’ porch, at the beach or the lake, so long as her family was there.

Christmas was her favorite time with family. Most spent at her parents’ sitting by the tree, enjoying a fire in the fireplace and the kids playing. She just loved being surrounded by family and friends just talking and laughing.

Nancy’s favorite place was the beach. She vacationed yearly on the Cape and just loved being with her family, children and later grandchildren soaking up the sun and salt air. She would sit for hours with everyone on the porch having happy hour and laughing and sharing stories of years past. The beach made her happy and brought her peace.

Nancy was Mema to Dylan, Katherine and Samantha who she loved with all of her heart!!! She spoke of each of them often and with the most pride and joy. She later was also Mema to Gracie-Mae, MJ and Isabella enjoying many weekly dinners with them. Nancy truly would glow when speaking to or about her daughters or grandchildren. She was so incredibly loved and is painfully missed!
