MILLBURY Neal M. Donovan, 60, of 66 Miles St., died Wednesday, Oct. 10th in his home, after an illness.
He leaves his long time companion, Bernice M. (Squiers) OTM)Gassian and her two children, Winnie Eilert of Northbridge and John OTM)Gassian of South Carolina and a cousin, Dr. Donald Deignan of Rhode Island. He was born in Worcester, son of Daniel J. and Lucy M. (Proal) Donovan. He graduated from Millbury Memorial High School in 1965 and then from Franklin Institute in Boston in 1967.
Neal worked at the former Day Brothers in Auburn for 22 years and retired from there in 1991. He and his twin brother Andrew, who died in August, were co-owners of the DonovanTM)s Pub for 15 years and the Belfont House for 29 years. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Millbury Veterans Council and the Vernon Hill American Legion Post in Worcester.
His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 15th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. JohnTM)s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14th in the funeral home.
