Nellie Denoncourt

d. April 22, 2016

Nellie A. (Lattanzio) Denoncourt, 83, passed away on Friday, April 22nd in St. Vincent Hospital.
Born in Waltham; her mom died when she was just a baby. She was adopted by two Italian immigrants when she was two years old. She lived in Worcester with her mom, Amelia and dad, Nicola Lattanzio. She learn to speak fluent Italian and graduated from Venerini Academy. She married Benjamin Denoncourt (1954) and they also adopted, two daughters. Benny, her husband of 36 years, predeceased her in 1990.

She worked in retail her whole life (with a short time in her early career as a bookkeeper). She worked at the Fair, Brooks and Rite Aid. She always enjoyed working and meeting her customers!

She was incredibly crafty. With her Singer sewing machine, she was a dynamo in sewing (many have worn the clothes she made), creative in ceramics (17 years of ceramics to be exact), knitting, crocheting - really you name it! She was also a fantastic cook, with many people enjoying her yearly home-made Italian Christmas cookies. And after her husband's death, she carried on their retirement plans, and became a camper---loving her time at Rusnik campground for 21 years.

Of course, like all mothers her pride and joy (besides her animals) were her two daughters, Paula and Donna and her much-loved daughter-in-law, Maryanne.
She left us April 22 (two days after her husband's birthday) to join him. She will be missed!
