Norma E. Cammuso, 78, passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Care One nursing home in Millbury after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Norma was born at Worcester Hahnemann Hospital, to Lyman and Mafilda (Ragaini) Keith. She graduated from Auburn High School and married the love of her life, Andrew J. Cammuso, on June 16, 1956, who predeceased her in January. She passed on the day before what would be their 60th wedding anniversary. Her family believes she didn't want to spend such a special milestone without him.
She leaves two sons, Andrew V. Cammuso and his wife, Anne Marie of Millbury and Anthony Cammuso and his wife, Christine of Holden as well as her 6 grandchildren: Melissa (Mathews) DuBois, Marlena Mathews, Roger, Ashley, Cara and Nicholas Cammuso and their significant others and one great grandson, Pierce. She is also survived by her brother, Lyman Keith and his wife Regina, currently of Boise, ID as well as uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews as well as many beloved friends.
She spent the majority of her young, married life caring for many children in her family. She then raised two devoted sons and even after they were grown, she continued to babysit other children for years to come. She also was the beloved receptionist for many years at Dr. David Matson's dentist office in Millbury before her retirement.
She enjoyed entertaining at her home and pool, Italian cooking and baking, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved talking on the phone with friends, coordinating matching outfits with her husband, putting on her face, Scrabble, Kismet and playing cards, her "soaps" and telling a good dirty joke. She loved people and always had a seat at her table for anyone who stopped by. She was a faithful wife, devoted daughter, dependable sibling and friend, loving mother and grandmother and a vibrant, kind and generous woman. She will be deeply missed by many.
Calling hours will be held at Mulhane Home for Funerals at 45 N. Main St, Millbury on Monday, June 20th from 6 to 9 p.m.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury. She will then be laid to rest with her husband Andrew at St. Brigid's Cemetery in Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Archway Inc., 77 Mulberry Street, Leicester, MA 01524, serving children and adults with autism.
