WESTBOROUGH – Olavi M. Lahna, 89, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy M. (Harwood) Lahna who died in 2002 and a son, Warren Lahna. He leaves three sons, Karl M. Lahna of Stuart, FL, Earl A. Lahna of Westborough and Eric Lahna of Barre; a sister, Alvina Kangas of Cape Cod; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Born in Finland in 1922, he immigrated with his family in 1926. He served in the Army Air Corps and Army in World War II in Europe. He graduated from Providence College and worked in engineering in the Worcester area before retiring from Pratt and Whitney.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8th in the funeral home. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, 72 East Concord St., C3, Boston, Mass. 02118.
