MILLBURY – Olive L. (Laverty) Buffone, 87, of formerly of 139 Park Hill Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 3rd in Life Care Center of Auburn.
Her husband, Louis P. Buffone of 52 years, died in 1997. She leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Ciaccio of Worcester; four sons, Paul E. Buffone of Millbury, Robert L. Buffone of Linden, NJ, William A. Buffone of Oxford and Michael J. Buffone of Worcester; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by her parents, William and Violet (Belliveau) Laverty, a brother, Alfred Laverty, a sister, Blanche Ritchotte and two grandchildren. She graduated from South High School in Worcester in 1938 and was an all star athlete there.
Mrs. Buffone was a member of St. Brigid's Church and the Millbury Council on Aging. She had also worked at the former Fair in Worcester. She was an avid Red Sox Fan.
Olive's family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Auburn for the compassionate and loving care of there mother.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 7th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of the Life Care Center of Auburn, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501.
