MILLBURY - Ovide J. Tessier, 79, formerly of Sycamore St., died Sunday, Aug. 18, in Providence House Nursing Home.
He leaves his wife, Beatrice R. (Maranda) Tessier; two sons, David J. Tessier of Millbury and Paul J. Tessier of Harwich; two sisters, Simone Dearnley of Port Orange, Florida and Cecile Webb of Manteo, North Carolina; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Taunton, son of Oliver and Emma (Lariviere) Tessier and has lived in Millbury most of his life. He was a Navy veteran during WW II and the Korean War.
Mr. Tessier was a tool maker at the General Electric Company in Ashland, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., (

) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 14 Waters St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in the funeral home.
