MILLBURY / CLAREMONT NC. Patricia A. (Taylor) Anderson, 73, formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Claremont, NC on Thursday February 26, 2009.
She was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Charles C. and Mary M. (Tobin) Taylor. Her husband of 45 years Russell L. Anderson, Sr. predeceased her in death in 1998.
She leaves 5 children, Russell L. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Hollywood, MD, Barbara L. Byers and her husband Frank of Newton, NC, Susan P. Rogers and her husband Paul of Worcester, MA, Charles H. and his wife Patricia A. of Millbury, MA, and Robert B. and his wife Jean of Dennis, MA. She leaves 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, a devoted brother-in-law Stuart B. Anderson, Sr. of Sutton MA, many Taylor cousins from "Bucks Village" in Millbury where she grew up and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Millbury High School and lived in Millbury all her life before moving to North Carolina in 2001. She was a life-long member of the Millbury Federated Church. She worked in the Millbury school system before retiring and volunteered several years in the Claremont, NC school department.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. That was her greatest joy. She loved to travel and spend time on Cape Cod. To most she was known just as "Gram" and will be sadly missed by all who knew her and touched by her presence in their lives.
Calling hours will be held on Monday March 2nd from 5 to 8 pm at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Due to renovations to the Millbury Federated Church her funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St. in Millbury, on Tuesday March 3rd at 11 am. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Millbury Federated Church, Memorial & Wills, 20 Main St. Millbury MA 01527.
