Patricia M. (Kurtyka) Girouard, 61, died peacefully Monday Aug. 10th in her home, surrounded by her family, after a 25 year battle with cancer.
She leaves her husband of 42 years, Kevin T. Girouard; a son, Jeremy T. Girouard and his wife Christine of Millis; a daughter, Kelley M. Barsamian and her husband, Greg of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Connor, Arabella and Bailey Girouard; two brothers, Robert Kurtyka of Florida and Peter Kurtyka of Attleboro; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Henry S. and Martha (Nelson) Kurtyka, a brother, Henry Kurtyka Jr. and granddaughter, Alexia Girouard.
She was a claims specialist for Arbella Insurance for 15 years, retiring a year ago. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, camping at the Cape Cod Canal. She also loved visiting light houses and decorating her home with light houses.
Patricia's funeral will be held Thursday, Aug. 13th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 1p.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12th in the funeral home. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia's name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
