GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Dr. Patricia A. Hyland, 71 , of Garden City, a Registered Nurse and Dr. of Education, died Saturday, July 27, at her residence, in Garden City, NY.
She leaves cousins among which is Elizabeth B. LeClaire of Sutton, Mass. She was born in Jamica, Long Island, N. Y. daughter of Dr. Edward J. Hyland and Elinor (Stevenson) Hyland and has lived in New York all of her life. She graduated form the College of Mt. St. Vincent, St. John's University and Teachers College, where she received her Dr. of Nursing degree, all in New York
Dr. Hyland was a professor from 1977 to 1990 and Professor Emeritus from 1990 at Nassau Community College. Previously she was an assistant and associate professor and chairman of the Department of Nursing at the college. Prior to this she was a head nurse, a clinical instructor and Associate Direct of Nursing at St. Clares Hospital.
A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, Ma. (

). Burial will be in Howard Cemetery, Sutton, Ma. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 at the funeral home.
