Whitinsville - Paul Lachapelle was born in Worcester and grew up in Millbury before moving to St. Petersburg, FL where he graduated high school in 1983. Shortly thereafter, he returned to Central Massachusetts where he purchased a house in Leicester to put down roots and raise his family.
Working as an advanced maintenance mechanic and service technician within several manufacturing industries, Paul serviced government contracts and traveled nationally and internationally for many years. His work became more local once the pride and joy of his life, his daughter Olivia, was born in 2001 so he could focus on being the best Dad he could be for his “Sweet Pea” or “Livvy B” as he affectionately called her.
Paul will long be remembered as a loving father and brother, a die-hard Patriots fan and ultimate tailgate chef, a musician and music lover, a jovial party host – especially for the annual backyard clam bakes and Superbowl parties in Wiggie’s II, a loyal and devoted friend, a ‘Sorry’ © game champion, a comedian and prankster, and the list goes on and on. Those who were fortunate to have known him will surely never forget him. Sadly, over the past several years his health had significantly declined and he died on April 23, 2020.
He is survived by his daughter Olivia Lachapelle and her mother Justina of Leicester, his brother Robert (Bob) Lachapelle and his wife Charlene of Douglas, his sister Brenda Lachapelle of Leicester, his sister Jane Guilfoyle and her husband Dave, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Bernice (Davidson) Lachapelle, his brother Richard (Lou) Lachapelle and sister Bertha Lachapelle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
