Paul I. Lavoie, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 22nd at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Diane (Zajanckauskas) Lavoie; his children, Denise Lavoie, Steven Lavoie and Nicole Crocker all of Sutton. His brothers, Marcel and his wife Nancy of Sutton, Normand and his wife Sue of Wilmington NC, Andrew and his wife Pam of Millbury, and Raymond of Millbury. His sisters, Mary Jeanne Duhamel and her husband Robin of Sutton, and Madeleine Digregorio and her husband Maurice of Webster. His grandchildren, Alex and Grace Crocker, Ashley and Travis Lavoie and Melissa Bobolia. He also leaves many nephews, nieces and cousins. Paul is predeceased by his parents, Honore J. and Gabrielle M. (Duguay) Lavoie and a brother, Lucien.
Paul owned and operated Professional Tree in Sutton for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Marks Church. He was a former President of the Carpenters Union, Local 107, a member and former President of the Sutton Lions Club, a member of the Town Hall Building Committee and the Recreation Committee of Sutton. He was a proud member of the DRUSLAPH group!
He loved golf and played at many golf clubs in New England and Florida. He loved his morning coffee with friends at the Center Store in Sutton and enjoyed telling jokes. Paul was extremely proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He especially loved playing daily games of gin rummy with his wife Diane.
His funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Road in Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 27th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton.
