Paul Stockhaus

October 24, 1952 — June 28, 2009

SUTTON – Paul R. Stockhaus, 56, died Sunday, June 28th in the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester from complications of PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).

He leaves his wife, Janis C. (Hart) Stockhaus; a son, Ryan P. Stockhaus of Sutton; an aunt, Doris Frankian of Uxbridge; a brother, Steven E. Stockhaus of Payson, AZ; cousins and many close friends. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Russell E. and Elma (Holm) Stockhaus. He graduated from Assumption College in Worcester in 1974.

Mr. Stockhaus was a seventh grade math teacher at Northbridge Middle School from 1974 through 2007. He was the recipient of the DeSautel Award and he played baseball for Assumption College throughout his college career. His passion was golf and he was a former member of the Whitinsville Country Club, in Whitinsville. Paul was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed all New England Sports. The family wishes to express a sincere thanks to Dr. David Simon of the Beth Israel Deaconist Hospital in Boston and to the staff of the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester. Also, a very special thanks to Ronald Stead for his unconditional friendship.

Paul's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1st at the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston Rd., on the common, in Sutton. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, Wednesday, prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 307 Boston Road, Sutton, MA 01590. Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
