Peter J. Bergstrom, Jr.

MILLBURY – Peter J. Bergstrom Jr., 35 passed away on Friday, Jan. 19^th after a life, long battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy surrounded by his loving family.

Peter leaves his parents Peter J. Sr. and Joanne A. (Brady) Bergstrom of Millbury, his sister and best friend Kayla St. Laurent of Spencer and a half sister Amanda Gifford of Spencer.   He also leaves his two beloved nieces (his little monkeys) Andrea St. Laurent and Katherine St. Laurent. Preceded by his maternal grandparents Beverly and Francis Niemiec and his paternal grandmother Joyce Eccleston and his paternal grandfather Ralph Eccleston of Auburn. Peter was blessed with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Peter attended Millbury Public Schools up until his high school years where he then was home schooled through Liberty Christian curriculum.  He loved playing video games with his friends online and attending Boston Bruins games. Peter also enjoyed reading books by J.R.R. Tolkien, Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft series and many other books in the fantasy and gaming genre.  He was always enthusiastic in learning about many categories such as Science and Engineering, Automotive and even world history and politics. Diagnosed at the age of 4, Peter was faced with an abundance of obstacles, but with his love and faith in God, and the love of his family and friends he surpassed more expectations ever imagined.  He loved life and he loved his family, he was a true Hero.

Family and Friends are invited to remember Peter by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, Jan. 25^th from 4 to 7 pm at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street Millbury Ma.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial contribution be made in Peter’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 33 Lyman Street Westborough MA 01581.
