Pheobe E. (Desorcy) Wilkinson, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 26th in the Millbury Health Care Center, surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Clifford H. Wilkinson died in 1972. She leaves a son, William C. Wilkinson and his wife Paulette and a daughter, Bonny Dattis and her partner Mark A. Wilmot all of Millbury; three grandchildren, Keith W. Wilkinson and his wife Christina of NH, Brian C. Wilkinson and his wife Thuy of Sutton and Barry P. Wilkinson of Worcester; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Tobias Wilkinson. She was born in Millbury and is predeceased by a sister, Doris (Desorcy) Mangano and a son-in-law Leonard "Butch" Dattis.
Pheobe worked at General Electric in Ashland for many years. Subsequently she worked for the Millbury District Nursing and then assumed the role of cook at the former Pine Grove Villa Nursing Home in Millbury. She spent many years there catering to the staff and residents who thoroughly enjoyed her cooking skills. She was an avid reader and Red Sox fan. Her children were her life and they always came first. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff of the Millbury Public Library that made the last few years of her life more enjoyable.
Pheobe's funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Millbury Public Library, 128 Elm St. Millbury, Ma 01527 or to the JHC Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
