Philip J. McNamara, 85, passed away at home Friday, July 18th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Philip was born in Millville, MA to the late John A. and Elizabeth (Quinn) McNamara. Phil is survived by two brothers, John R. McNamara of Douglas and Thomas R. McNamara and his wife, Rosanna of Millbury; a sister with whom he lived, Patricia A. McNamara of Worcester; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters, Agnas Tivnan, Eleanor Kuzmickas and Mary McNamara; two brothers, Robert McNamara and Cornelius McNamara.

Phil was a resident of Worcester for many years and attended Worcester Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in WW II. Phil was employed as a correctional officer at the Worcester County House of Corrections in West Boylston. He was a member of the Worcester County Retirement Association, Clearview Country Club and the Greendale Retirement Men's Bowling League.

Philip's calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd from 9 to 10 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral will follow the calling hours with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street in Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
