Phyllis M. Scully, 87, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 21st at her home at Brookdale at Eddy Pond West - The Lodge where she has lived for the past 4 years. Prior to moving to Auburn, Phyllis lived in Millbury for many years.
Phyllis leaves her sisters-in-law, Claire A. Scully of Cherry Valley and Alma F. Scully of Charlton. She leaves her nieces, Kathleen M. Mahoney, Patricia A. Walls, Maureen F. Standring and Donna M. Diani. She leaves her nephews, Donald A. Scully, Jr., Patrick J. Scully, Daniel F. Scully and Sean W. Scully and many great nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Timothy F. Scully and Donald A. Scully and a nephew, Timothy H. Scully.
Born in Worcester, Phyllis was the daughter of Timothy and Elmira (Wynott) Scully. She was a graduate of North High School. Phyllis was employed at the former Paul Revere Insurance Co. for 39 years as a payroll manager. While at Paul Revere she played in the Women's Softball League winning the Class B Championship in the 1950's.
Phyllis also loved to golf and bowl. She enjoyed rooting for all the Boston sports teams, particularly the Red Sox. Phyllis loved camping with her extended family during the summer months. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing along with anyone who would join in. She was a longtime and faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Worcester. She enjoyed travelling and visiting casinos, win or lose! Phyllis enjoyed her last 4 years with great friends at Brookdale, her home, getting into whatever she could - bingo, sing-a-longs, picnics, outings and crafts.
Phyllis's family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Eddy Pond West- The Lodge for making her feel loved and cared for. They became part of her family and she loved them all.
Phyllis's calling hours will be held on Sunday Feb. 26th from 2-5 at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral will be on Monday, Feb. 27th with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street in Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.
