MILLBURY R. Stanley Grandone, 83, died Tuesday, June 2nd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy M. (Lambert) Grandone; a son, Philip L. Grandone of Floweree, MO; a daughter, Paula M. wife of John H. Popham of Millbury; a brother, Raymond Grandone of Webster; seven grandchildren, Erin Grandone, Megan Dardas, Bethany and Ross Popham, Ryan, Jillian and Ashley Grandone; five great grandchildren, Jonathan and Gauge Dardas, Jack, Claire and Elizabeth Grandone. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Roscoe and Bertha (Stockwell) Grandone and a son, Stephen S. Grandone.
Stanley was a pharmacist at the former Fallon Pharmacy in Millbury before he retired four years ago. Previously he owned and operated the former Lambert's Pharmacy in Millbury for many years. He was a Navy veteran during WW II, serving in the Philippines. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling and wood carving.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday June 27th in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private in West Millbury Cemetery in Millbury. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funeral in Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
