Ralph Nolfi

March 18, 1927 — November 10, 2009

MILLBURY – Ralph S. Nolfi passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10th at Kindred Hospital Parkview of Leicester, after an illness.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith B. (Brenan) Nolfi; children Deborah Nolfi of Las Vegas, NV; Michelle Metoyer & her husband Christopher of Brockton; Scott Nolfi of Arlington; Mark Nolfi of Santa Cruz, CA and Kimberley Bongiorno & her husband Thomas of Scotch Plains, NJ.; a stepson David LaFrance of Worcester; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Bilotta of Norwood and Doris Tyler of Ayer; a brother, Robert Nolfi of Dedham; several nieces & nephews.

Ralph was born in Boston, son of Ralph N. and Eva (Dawson) Nolfi. He lived for many years, in Dedham. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and then joined the Seabee Reserves. He served in World War II and in Viet Nam, retiring in 1987 with the rate of Chief Petty Officer. He was a brick mason for many years working for companies in Boston and later Worcester. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Auburn, the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury, the MCB 12 Seabee Association, the Disabled American Veterans and the Fleet Reserve Association. He enjoyed gardening, building ship models, photography, history, travel, and going out to breakfast with special friends.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21st in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School St. in Auburn. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Massachusetts Health & Hospice Care, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605 or VNA Care Network, Inc. Development Office 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
