MILLBURY - Raymond A. Smith, 83, of 153 North Main St., died Monday, March 10th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 39 years, Joyce M. (Cahill) Carlow Smith; three children, Scott R. Smith of York, Main, Cynthia L. Meighan of Charlotte, NC and Kevin F. Smith of Millbury; a step-son, Dennis Carlow of Nebraska and a step-daughter, Deborah Carlow of Millbury; a sister, Ruth Oliver of Concord; nine grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, Felix and Margaret (McQueeney) Smith and three brothers, and six sisters.
Mr. Smith was a machinist in the forge department at Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester for 40 years, before he retired. He was an Army veteran during WW II serving in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and the Rhinelands.
His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14th in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, is assisting the family with arrangements.
