MILLBURY Raymond L. Ledoux Jr., 76, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 in his home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Kathleen E. (Braney) Ledoux; three children, Darlene E. Ledoux and her husband Peter Dempster of Millbury, Michael R. Ledoux and his fiancee Annette Shepard of Arizona and Donna M. Guzzetti and her husband Timothy of Millbury; a brother, Kenneth Ledoux and his wife Anita of West Barnstable; seven grandchildren, James and Christopher Ledoux of Clinton, Lauren and Kelly Dempster of Millbury, Saige, Angelina and Anthony Guzzetti of Millbury; nephews and nieces.
Ray was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Millbury for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was also a former cemetery commissioner for the town of Millbury for 20 years and was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post and the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed baseball and football. Ray played many years in the menTM)s softball league in Millbury and enjoyed playing horseshoes, vacationing at Cape Cod with his family and the sun shine in Florida.
RayTM)s funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16th in the funeral home. Members of the Charles F. Minney Post will meet Tuesday night for their ritual. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donorTM)s choice.
