WORCESTER - Raymond P. Nelson, former longtime resident of Millbury and Worcester, passed away peacefully after a long illness in his home on Friday, February 4th.
Ray leaves his wife of 61 years, June L. (Stearns) Nelson; three sons, Steven Nelson-Anderberg and his husband, Michael, Rick Nelson and Scott Nelson and his wife, Ginny; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Erika, Collin, and Christopher; four great grandchildren, Lukas, Grayden, Chase and Reed; a brother Edward Nelson; nieces and nephews.
Ray was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed taking his family on Hampton Beach vacations and going to the Cape with his wife. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, and cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox. Ray was a member of the Greendale Men’s Club in Worcester and was a honored part of the club’s color guard.
Family and friends will remember and celebrate Ray’s life with a time of visitation on Wednesday, Feb. 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His “Celebration of Life” will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Face Masks will be required in the funeral home.
