Raymond Henry Pierce Jr., 95, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 74 years, Marie (DeLorme) Pierce of Sutton. He is also survived by his son Brad and his wife Cathy of Sutton, a granddaughter Jamie Rae McNally and her husband Taylor and great granddaughter Lawrence Rae of Brookfield.
He was born on July 17, 1929 in Worcester, MA to Raymond Pierce Sr. and Blanche (Morton) Pierce.
Ray later met the love of his life Marie and they were married on January 6, 1951.
He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954, where he was an instructor for the Firearms Team.
Ray enjoyed his career working at Jeffco Distributors supplying industrial spray paint and finishing equipment throughout New England. On many weekends, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends in Winthrop, exploring Boston Harbor on his boat The Mariah.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his home on Lake Singletary. He spent countless hours with his cherished granddaughter Jamie who gave him the title of “Papa Ray”, which he was later affectionately called by many throughout his life. Recently he experienced profound joy in meeting and spending time with his new great granddaughter, Lawrence Rae.
He found the greatest joy in the life he shared with his wife, family and friends.
Ray was a kind and gentle soul who had an exceptional ability to problem solve anything and a natural gift to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Ray will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew him.
To honor Ray’s wishes services will be private.
