FLORIDA/SUTTON - Raymond P. Turgeon, Sr., age 86, passed away on Thursday June 8, 2023 unexpectedly at his second home in Florida.
He leaves the love of his life, his wife, Ann Marie, his son, Raymond, daughter in law Linda and granddaughter Raelyn, his son Kenneth, wife Susan and his grandchildren Nicholas and Shannon. He is predeceased by his brother Joseph and sister Alice Vizzo and many nieces and nephews.
Graduated from St. Stephen’s High School then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After the end of his 4-year service, he was a proud member of the Worcester Police Force when he retired years later. Ray was a member of the Auburn Elks for many years. Growing up he was a multi sports player and excelled at all sports. Later in his life, his passion was bowling, horseshoe and especially golf, his favorite and was club champion for many years. Upon retiring he camped seasonally at Powderhorn Campground enjoying life with his family and friends. In 2013 he achieved his goal of moving to Florida. Most of all to describe him he was a simple man and sacrificed all his life for his wife and family. Anyone who knew him became a friend with a smile on their face and that smile lives on in all of us. His family says Goodbye with Heavy Hearts.
Family and friends are invited to remember and honor Ray’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, June 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main, Millbury.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 19th at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 in Ray’s memory.
