MILLBURY Rene O. Morin, 73, of 162 Millbury Ave., died Monday, Sept. 17th in St. Vincent Hospital, after being stricken ill at home.<br><br>He leaves his wife, Claire R. (Nadeau) Morin; a daughter, Debra L. wife of Paul D. Gunnard of Auburn; two sons, Brian R. and his wife Sharyn Morin of Millbury and Gary R. Morin and his fiance Wendy Vilandre of Hardwick; two sisters, Leona Lebel and Frances Pelletier both of Millbury; four grandchildren, Hollie, Kristy, Katie and Thomas; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents Philemon A. and Anna (Couture) Morin and three sisters, Jeanne Bergeron, Eva Dix and Marcel Dufresne and three brothers, Henry, Philemon and Joffre Morin. <br><br>Mr. Morin was a union carpenter for 20 years and worked for Granger Construction Corp. in Worcester. He then worked in maintenance for the Millbury School Department and retired as a head custodian in 1996. He was a former Building Inspector for the Town of Millbury. Rene was a Marine veteran and served during the Korean War in the 1st Marine Division, Weapons, 2nd Bat. 5th Reg., serving in many campaigns. He was Jr. Vice Commander and former Commander of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury, where he had been a member for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton. Rene was an avid horse shoe player and loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. <br><br>A military funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 21st from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20th in the funeral home. Member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post will conduct a ritual at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
