Richard Warren

July 4, 1930 — January 8, 2011

MILLBURY – Richard A. Warren, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 8th in the Millbury Health Care Center.

His wife, Sylvia J. (Kennedy) Warren died in 1999. He leaves three daughters, Sherry L. Chute and her husband, Kevin of Charlton, Carol M. Eichmuller and her husband, Robert of Oxford and Jean Ann Coston and her husband, Chester of South China, ME; one son, Daniel E. Violette and his wife, Anne of Webster; two daughter-in-laws, Shirley A. Violette of Millbury and Diane M. Violette of Taylors, SC; a sister, Edith Searles and her husband, Ralph of Auburn; one brother, Russell Smith and his wife, Linda of Spencer; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was born in Vinal Haven, ME and is predeceased by his parents, Risty R. Warren and Harriet F. (Hopkins) Smith; two sons, James W. Violette and Louis Peter Violette; two brothers, Gilbert Warren and Donald Smith and a sister, Mary Peterson.

Mr. Warren was a truck driver for Quinn Freight Lines and Anchor Motor Freight before he retired. He was a member of the Millbury Federated Church and Teamsters Local 170. Richard served as a Private First Class in the Army during the Korean War. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Ernie, Doris and the entire staff of the Alzheimer's Unit at Millbury Health Care Center for their outstanding care and friendship.

His funeral service will be held Friday, January 14th at 11 a.m. in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 13th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Healthcare Alzheimer's Activity Fund, 312 Millbury Ave, Millbury, MA, 01527.
