MILLBURY Richard R. Chagnon Sr., 77, of 236 Millbury Ave., died Wednesday, March 15th in his home, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Pauline B. (LaPlante) Chagnon; a daughter, Jacqueline J. wife of Stephen Choiniere of Millbury and a son, Richard R. and his wife Cynthia Chagnon Jr. of Rutland; three brothers, Roger Chagnon of Boston, Paul Chagnon of Linwood and Edward Chagnon of Northbridge; a sister, Mildred LeBlanc of Florida; four grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas Choiniere and Andrew and Heather Chagnon. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose (Dumont) Chagnon, a brother, Norman Chagnon and a sister, Claire Bouley.
Mr. Chagnon was a fork lift operator for Wyman Gordon Co. in North Grafton for almost 40 years, retiring in 1990. He loved his grandchildren, the Red Sox and fishing.
His funeral will be held Saturday, March 18th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters, St., Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 17th in the funeral home.
