Richard Dainys

June 14, 1941 — April 8, 2002

WORCESTER - Richard S. Dainys, 60, of 8 Cliff St., died Monday, April 8, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 39 years, Patricia E. (Peacott) Dainys; three sons, Richard Dainys of Whitinsville and Ronald Dainys and Robert A. Dainys both of Worcester; a daughter Janine M. Tavares of Largo, Florida; six grandchildren; two nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Steven and Anna (Zemaitis) Dainys and lived here most of his life.

Mr. Dainys was a machinist at Norton Company for 23 years, retiring in 1987. He now worked at Hobby Time in Auburn, for the last two years.

His hobbies were collecting toy Civil War and other soldiers, gardening and piano and guitar playing.

The funeral will be held from Friday, April 12, Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday April, 11, in the funeral home.
