Richard F. Donovan, 76, formerly of Millbury passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30th surrounded by his family after a long illness.
He leaves behind his daughters, Sheila Peralta of Worcester, Susan and Shelley Donovan of Millbury; his granddaughters, Kayla Ojerholm and Amiya Sahin both of Millbury; his sister, Linda Beals and her husband, Gerald of Worcester; his daughter's step-father and friend, Jerry Johnson of Florida; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased his parents, John and Edith Donovan; his brother, Robert Donovan and his former wife, Sandra Johnson.
Richie graduated from the former Commerce High School in Worcester. He managed many drive in's and movie theaters early in his life, he also worked at the Village Knoll in Millbury for many years.
He will always be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather and brother. Richie scarified a lot to raise his daughters. He was a huge fan of the Red Sox since his childhood, he never missed a game even up to his last days.
Richie's calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 2nd from 3 to 6 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
