GRAFTON Richard A. "Lou" Lachapelle, 50, of 13 Williams Rd., died Sunday, Nov. 19th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
His wife, Donna M. (Festa) Lachapelle died in 2005. He leaves two brothers, Robert P. Lachapelle of Douglas and Paul K. Lachapelle of Leicester; two sisters, Jane Guilfoyle of Auburn and Brenda J. Lachapelle of Leicester; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Harold A. and Bernice (Davidson) Lachapelle.
Beginning in the late seventies and continuing through the next decade, Lou was a staple in the greater Tampa music scene working with many bands as a sound technician. He was well renowned for his ability to work with any sound system in any venue. At the height of his career, he worked with .38 Special and with Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., following the calling hours, in the funeral home. Burial will be private in West Millbury Cemetery, West Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crozier House, 10 Hammond St., Worcester, MA 01610.
