Richard Macintyre

Richard F. "Mac" MacIntyre, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 11th at Webster Manor Nursing Home with his wife and granddaughter, Christan by his side after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Mac leaves his loving wife of 20 years Kathleen A. (Bachant) MacIntyre; his son, Gary MacIntyre, Sr. of Douglas; three grandchildren, Christan, Gary and Timothy; three great grandchildren; a brother, Norman MacIntyre, Jr. of Bellingham; a sister, Mary Smith of SC. He also leaves his extended family, Chondra Provencher and her husband, Mike and Cathy Chionchio and her husband, Frank all of Millbury; eight grandchildren and a great grandson. Richard is predeceased by a son, Keith MacIntyre and a sister, Marilyn Cram.

Mac was born in Burlington, VT to Norman F. MacIntyre, Sr. and Viola (Whitney) MacIntrye. He has lived in Douglas for past the 23 years and was a United States Airforce Veteran. Mac retired from Concrete Services in 1999 and was a member of the Local Teamsters 170. He was also a former member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post 414. Mac loved riding free on his Harley Davidson, tinkering in the basement, building radio controlled planes but most of all loved spending time with family and friends. His love of life and for his country was endless and he was always ready to lend a hand. Mac will be missed by many. His family would like to extend a thank you to all the staff at the Webster Manor Healthcare Center and Compassus Hospice for all their wonderful care.

Mac's calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27th from 2 to 5 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. His funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 28th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.
