Richard P. Novak, 91, died Friday, January 25, 2013 after a brief illness.
Richard's wife Josephine (Piatczyc) Novak died in 1998. He leaves two sons, Ronald R. Novak and his wife, Dianne of Sutton and Richard K. Novak and his wife, Toni of Oxford; two daughters, Dianne Andresano and her husband, Vincent of Millbury and Donna Janes of Sutton; six grandchildren, Ronald Novak, Jr., Nicole Novak, Joseph and Nicholas Novak, Megan Andresano and Andrew Janes; one great grandson, Corbin Novak; two brothers, Eugene Novak of Worcester and Robert Novak of Holden; one sister, Rita Novak of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Raymond Novak and a sister, Loretta Dunn.
Richard was a graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester. He was a member of Carpenters Local 107 in Worcester for 67 years and was the founder of Oxford Auto Sales and Rutland Auto Sales. Richard took great pride in the many homes and unique fireplaces that he personally built in the Worcester County Area. Dancing was his passion and he enjoyed nothing more than dancing the Polka with his wife. Richard enjoyed traveling to many venues, especially the Webster American Legion where he shared his love of dancing with many friends.
Richard's funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 29th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 28th from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
