HOLDEN - Richard Earl Osborn, 81, son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Parks) Osborn, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 18th, surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife and First Mate of 57 years, Bette (Phillips) Osborn; his adoring daughters and their husbands, Kimberlee and John Berteletti, Kristine and James Miller and Deborah and Douglas Folsom; his beloved grandchildren William Richard Miller, Samantha Miller and Michael Restuccia, John Zachary Berteletti, Maxwell Lee Berteletti, Hailee and Christopher Steinke, William Kody Folsom, Kristine Kimberlee Folsom, and Richard Tyler Folsom; and his treasured great grand daughter, Logan Jane Restucci .
A graduate of Classical High School and Northeastern University, Dick forged his career in banking, beginning at Worcester County National Bank, working his way to serve as President of Millbury National Bank. He also devoted his time as Treasurer of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Holden and Covenant United Methodist Church and as Commander of Worcester County Power Squadron. Dick finished his career as a member of the Board of Directors for MNB until 2020. His passion however, was family and boating. Dick was most himself behind the helm of his boat, plotting courses to ferry his family and friends around Cape Cod and Lake Winnipesaukee. When he and Betsy weren’t boating, they could be found hiking, camping, golfing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing, traveling and sharing adventures with their family and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dick’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday May 26th from 10 am to noon at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 North Main Street, Millbury. A service will follow at Noon in the funeral home. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or Boston Children’s Hospital at www.giving.childrenshospital.org.
