WORCESTER/MILLBURY - Richard E. Tift, 73, formerly of Millbury, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan J. (Chamberlin) Tift. He leaves two sisters, Marie Jacques and her husband, Thomas of Brookfield, Eileen Ethier and her husband, Ronald of Millbury; a brother, Raymond Tift and his wife, Linda of Millbury. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Elwyn F. and Beatrice M. (Blanchette) Tift.
Richard worked at Rand Whitney for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He graduated from the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and attended the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford CT. He was a member of Worcester Deaf Senior Club. He enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. He also enjoyed computers, Ipads and crossword puzzles.
His funeral will be held Monday, March 14th from Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 Main St. with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday March 13th in the funeral home. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
