SHREWSBURY Richard B. Walsh, 78, of 33 Smith Rd., died Wednesday, Oct. 11th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Gloria A. (Kattor) Walsh; two daughters, Deborah L. Limanek of Whitinsville and Cheryl A. Haire of Shrewsbury; a son, Brian J. Walsh of Worcester; two sisters, Elizabeth A. Pichierri of Millbury and Thelma E. Collette of New York; six grandchildren, Jesse, Richard, Elizabeth, Michael, Joseph and Christopher; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kristan, Justin, Hanna and Morgan; nephew and nieces, He was predeceased by a son, Richard Walsh Jr. He was born in Worcester, son of Harry and Annie F. (Balmer) Walsh.
Mr. Walsh was a foreman a General Motors in Framingham where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was an Army veteran during WW II and the Korean War.
His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 16th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton, St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donorTM)s choice.
