Rita M. (Keris) Paluses, 87, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
Rita's husband of 36 years, Robert V. Paluses passed away in 1990. She leaves two children, Robert J. Paluses and his wife, Martha of Millbury and Dianne M. Paluses of North Oxford; a grandson, Brandon R. Paluses of Worcester; a sister, Irene Adamaitis of Worcester; five nieces, Irene, Carol, Mary Lou, Joan and Carolyn.
Rita was the president of the Lithuanian Women's Club of Worcester and choir director of Our Lady of Vilna in Worcester. She was a volunteer at the Millbury Elmwood Street School and worked the Millbury voting polls for many years. Rita also worked at Worcester County Heat Treat in Millbury and Credit Adjustment Bureau in Worcester. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, shopping, playing the piano and going to the beach. During the past year Rita also enjoyed spending time at Summit Eldercare on Grafton Street in Worcester. Rita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, who enjoyed being surrounded by her family and pets.
Rita's calling hours will be held on Tuesday March 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 12th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
