WORCESTER Rita C. (Szlyk) Szklarz, 80, of Grafton St., died Friday, July 6th in the Millbury Health Care Center.
She leaves her husband, Henry J. Szklarz; five sons, Henry J. Szklarz Jr. of New Woodstock, CT, Richard P. Szklarz of Auburn, Steven W. Szklarz of CT, David E. Szklarz of Worcester and John M. Szklarz of Devine, TX; one daughter, Carolyn R. Tavares of Worcester; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Szlyk of York ME and Robert Szlyk of Northborough. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Walter and Anna (Lankinikas) Szlyk and is predeceased by a sister, Irene Meakan.
Rita lived on Grafton Street in Worcester most of her life and taught in the Worcester Public Schools for nine years before retiring to raise her family. She loved to travel with her husband and spend time with her family.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, July 10th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 9th in the funeral home.
