MILLBURY – Rita M. (Sweet) Woodward, 96, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in her home, surrounded by her family.
Rita's husband, Leon A. Woodward died in 2003. She leaves two sons, Robert Woodward and his wife, Viann of Colorado and Bruce Woodward and his wife, Christine of Holden; three daughters, Charlene Anton and her husband, Richard of Auburn, Sandra Ward and her husband, James of Millbury and Marcia Davis and her husband, Robert of Ft. Myers, FL; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many friends at the Millbury Senior Center. Rita was born in Millbury and is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Emma (Reno) Sweet and 11 brothers and sisters.
Rita was a member of the former St. Brigid Women's Club, a member and former corresponding secretary of the Millbury Golden Age Club for many years and a member of the Millbury Council on Aging. She enjoyed bingo with her friends, her trips to Foxwoods and she enjoyed and loved everyone.
Rita's funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 23rd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22nd in the funeral home.
