Robert E. Cronan, 92, died Sunday, May 3rd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

His wife of 68 years, Margaret M. (Fitzgibbons) Cronan died in 2010. He leaves a daughter, Marie P. Jolly and her companion, Barry Astukewicz of Sutton; a son, Robert E. Cronan, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Glen, Barbara, Sharon , Linda, Melissa, Jodi and Kathi-Ann; fourteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Henry Cronan of New York; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, John F. and Mary (Henry) Cronan; two brothers, John and William Cronan and a great grandson, Michael.

Robert and his wife owned and operated the former Cronan's Café in Millbury. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving during World War II in the Pacific aboard the USS Centaurus AKA-17. Robert was a member of the Millbury Council on Aging, St. Brigid Church and Vernon Hill American Legion Post. He was also an avid fan of all the New England sport teams.

Robert's calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral will be Wednesday, May 6th with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
