Robert "Joe" W. Croteau, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 2nd after a long battle with heart failure.
Joe leaves his longtime companion of 19 years, Ellen L. Madden; one son, Joseph J. Croteau and his wife, Deborah of Auburn; two daughters, Marianne Croteau-Messer of Holden and Tracey Vokey and her husband, Bud of Saugus; five grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, Jake, Tyler and Sydney; two sisters, Linda Conroy of Worcester and Phyllis Asselin of Chicopee; many nieces and nephews.
Joe was veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the USS Albany. He worked 39 years for National Grid as a lineman and heavy equipment operator. Joe was a member of the Auburn Elks Club, American Legion Post 414 in Sutton and Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329 in Millbury. He was an avid fisherman. Joe enjoyed playing softball and day trips to the casino.
Joe's calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov 5th at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be private.
