Deacon Robert (Bob) V. Devine, 75, of Shrewsbury MA and Eustis ME, formerly of Millbury, died May 23, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on December 5, 1939 in Teaneck, NJ to Nathan and Beatrice (Nolan) Devine, Bob married the love of his life Leah (Gormally) on June 15, 1963. Including his wife, he is also survived by his spiritual mother, Mother Martin, O.P. and spiritual brother Rev. Msgr. Francis J. Scollen; his children: Martin D. Devine (fiancée Jessica Giroux), Catherine D. Watso (James), Thomas A. Devine (Lisa), Peter V. Devine (fiancée Maryam Moradi), and daughter-in-law Patricia Devine; his grandchildren: Christopher, John, Jessica, Emily, and Katelyn.

He graduated from Providence College, Catholic University of America, and University of Rhode Island. He worked as the librarian at Auburn High School for over 30 years retiring in 2005.
Bob served God and others as a deacon at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Worcester, since 2004 and the Diocese of Portland, Maine. His community service also included over 40 years of trail maintenance on the Appalachian Trail, St. Vincent Hospital Ethics and Patient Family Advocacy Committees, Hospice Volunteer, and Central Massachusetts track and field official.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 27th from 4-7 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 931 Main St, Worcester, MA with vigil service to follow.

The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 10 AM at St. Peter's. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Mt. Thabor Monastery, 1295 Bald Eagle Lake Rd, Ortonville, MI 48462.
