WORCESTER

WORCESTER- Robert Earl “Bob” Lange, age 71, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9,2024.

Born in Worcester, Bob was the second born son of Earl and Madeline (Akelaitis) Lange. He was raised in Millbury and graduated from Blackstone Vocational Technical High School in 1971. He was employed by the Upper Blackstone Clean Water Plant in Millbury from August of 1985 until his retirement in May of 2013.

Though faced with challenges in his early life, attributed to a devasting car accident at age sixteen, Bob went on to live a full life that was rich in many ways. He was blessed by the unconditional love of all his family members and later in life he was fortunate to have had the love and guidance of his dearest friend and mentor, Sam Shah. Sam was instrumental in helping Bob cast many of his longtime vices aside and provided him with a new, better and healthier direction that was drug and alcohol free for the last seven years of his life. Bob’s family will be forever grateful to Sam for the kindness, care and guidance he gave so freely and with such abundance.

Bob loved music and was especially fond of blues legend Muddy Waters and reggae master Bob Marley. He enjoyed car trips along the New England coast, past fishing excursions to Westerly, RI with his brother Brad, and testing his daily luck with a Massachusetts Lottery scratch ticket. He was a proud and loving uncle to Alex and Maddy, and a wonderful brother to his sister Linda and her husband John. He held fond memories of his past visits to their home in Colorado.

Bob was predeceased by his father and mother, Earl and Madeline Lange, and by his older brother, Brad, who died in 2021. He leaves behind his sister Linda Lange Trtanj, his brother-in-law John, nephew Alex and niece Madeline Trtanj, all of Colorado. He will be dearly missed by his extended family that includes his sister-in-law Ginny Lange of Sutton, eleven first cousins and their families, his dear friend Sam and his son Daniel. In his lifetime, Bob showed kindness and respect to all he met and sought the same in return.

Bob’s graveside service and burial will be private.
