AUBURN Robert L. Maynard, 75, of Auburn, formerly of West Main St., West Millbury, died Monday, May 22nd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Dorothy E. (DeLorme) Maynard; five children, Robert J. Maynard of Boylston, Ronald A. Maynard of Auburn, Thomas M. Maynard of East Brookfield, Gail M. wife of Francis B. King of Millbury and Maureen P. Carpinetti of Worcester; three sisters, Rita Howard of Webster, Irene Sullivan of Millbury and Marjorie Gosselin of Florida; four grandchildren, Jonathan Maynard, Christopher Maynard, Ryan King and Melissa King; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Bertha M. (Roy) Maynard and a brother, Ernest A. Maynard. He attended Millbury Schools and graduated from Worcester BoyTM)s Trade High School.
Mr. Maynard was a manager of the Installation Control Group in Worcester, Holden and Shrewsbury where he worked for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was in the Naval Reserves. He was a former Millbury Selectman and parishioner of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn and St. BrigidTM)s Church in Millbury, where he was once president of the churchTM)s menTM)s club. He was an avid Red Sox Fan.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 26th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25th in the funeral home.
