MILLBURY Robert L. Williams, 73, formerly of Elmwood St., died Wednesday, Dec. 27th in the Soldiers Home, Holyoke.
His wife, Barbara M. (Storey) Williams died in 1999. He leaves a daughter, Patricia A. wife of Dr. Peter Rugg of Worcester and a son, Robert F. and his wife Karen Williams of Kennisaw, GA; a sister, Mabel Stewart of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Stephen,
Monica, Katherine and Peter Rugg, Sarah, Scott and Sabrina Williams; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Charles and Laura (Wheeler) Williams.
Mr. Williams retired from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority in 2000. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Gatling. He was a life long member of the Millbury Baptist Church, a member of the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post #9 and the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons, all in Millbury.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 3rd in Riverside Cemetery, Millbury St., Grafton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements.
