Roger M. Raymond, 80, passed away surrounded by his family, on Monday Dec 15th in St Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He leaves his devoted wife, Betty L. (Pettis) Raymond, who was his best friend, soul mate and love of his life. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October. He also leaves five children, Roger Raymond Jr. and his wife, Karen of Sutton, Robin and her husband, Jack Donnelly of Oxford, Steven and his wife, Michele Raymond of Oxford, Linda and her husband, Tom Tagg of North Grosvernordale CT and Paul and his wife, Nancy Raymond of Sutton. Roger "Pepe" leaves 12 grandchildren, Kristina, Timothy, Jennifer, Shawn, Andrew, Patrick, Christopher, Joshua, Brian, Taylor, Mitchell, and Elisa. He also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Nathan, Kendall, Savannah, and Hunter. Roger is survived by a brother, Norman Raymond and his wife, Isabelle of Auburn and is predeceased by a sister, Lillian Raymond.
Roger was a hard-working and well respected truck driver for over 40 years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 170 out of Worcester. In 1979 he was Rookie of the Year in the MA State Trucking Rodeo. Roger was a US Navy veteran. He loved his vegetable garden, taking care of the yard, and spending time with family. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. One of his most memorable times was the family vacation in Cancun.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St Marks Church, 356 Boston Rd. in Sutton.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 pm Friday, Dec. 19th in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
