Roland J. Lariviere, 72, died suddenly Thursday, May 29th in St. Vincent Hospital.
Roland leaves his wife of 37 years, Lorraine M. (Travers) Lariviere; two sons, Ronald Travers and his wife Cheryl, and Donald Lariviere both of Millbury; one daughter, Lori Ritso and her husband, John of RI; four grandchildren, Nicole, Lindsay, Tyler and Kevin; two great grandchildren, Aidan and Logan; seven sisters, Margaret Lima, Dianne Raposa, June Demello, Barbara Lariviere, Rita Grandfield, Patricia Furtado and Theresa Lariviere all of Fall River; many niece and nephews. He was born in New York and is predeceased by his parents, Roland L. and Margaret (O'Brien) Lariviere and a brother, Donald Lariviere.
Roland worked in Quincy Shipyard and for LCH Fabricators in Worcester for many years. He worked for 30 years as a sheet metal mechanic for Consolidated Fabricators in Auburn, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed gardening, especially working with his tomato plants. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Roland's calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 1st from 1 to 4 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral will be held on Monday, June 2nd with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
